KSE has an International Projects Office — a structural unit established within the BRIDGE project under the EU’s Horizon Europe programme. Its mission is to support the university’s researchers and teams in working with international grant programmes: developing project ideas, preparing applications, and supporting the implementation of funded projects.
Despite the war, KSE continues to grow dynamically, strengthening its research activities and international cooperation. One of the steps in this direction was the establishment of systematic support for international grant projects. The Office operates as part of the Department of International Cooperation and supports the university’s international research, educational, and social initiatives, as well as academic mobility programmes. The Office’s work is coordinated by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Kostyantyn Kyrychenko. He is joined by a team of seven colleagues.
The Office supports projects throughout their full lifecycle. During the application preparation stage, its experts help researchers structure project ideas, prepare budgets, find partners, and complete documentation in line with donor requirements. Once funding is secured, the Office continues to support project implementation by coordinating work across university departments, monitoring compliance with grant conditions, and assisting with financial and reporting documentation.
The BRIDGE project consortium members — leading European universities — support the KSE team in developing the International Projects Office. They share their experience of how grant offices operate and provide guidance on managing the processes of proposal writing, project management, and coordination of international research projects. In December 2025, KSE colleagues visited the Grant Office of the University of Tartu, and in January and March 2026 continued their learning at Technische Universität Berlin and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
KSE’s International Projects Office brings together best practices from leading European universities and significantly strengthens the university’s research capacity and impact at both the national and international levels.
