Seminar "Digital Era Governance: insights from the Netherlands for Ukraine"
The biggest challenge in digital governance is not implementing technologies, but overcoming what holds them back: organisational barriers, societal implications and fragmented data.
How the Netherlands addresses these challenges was explored by three KSE lecturers during a course delivered by Erasmus University Rotterdam as part of the BRIDGE project. They will now share the knowledge they gained with their colleagues.
Mykhaylo Vidyakin, KSE lecturer in management courses and former Director of Strategy and Reform at the National Bank of Ukraine, will explore Digital Era Governance: AI in public services, organisational barriers, the human factor, as well as the case of the ICTU Foundation, which helps the Dutch government implement digital solutions for the public sector.
Mariia Kriuchok, lecturer and educational designer, and author of Ukraine’s first course in Science and Technology Studies (STS), will explain how to measure the impact of technology governance, drawing on the cases of TNO and the Dutch police forecasting system.
Oleh Omelchenko, KSE lecturer in data-related courses, will analyse the DE-CIST project: how Rotterdam is using data to build an energy-efficiency map of buildings and what Ukrainian cities can learn from this experience.
